As a lifetime streetballer, I’m now aiming to use all that I’ve learned on (and off) the court to establish a non-profit organization based in Tokyo: HOPE 81.

Our first project is set for this summer 2009.  Hope 81 will bring a group of Tokyo-area basketball players to Paris, France, and participate in the world’s biggest international streetball tournament: QUAI 54.  As Asia’s first-ever entry in this prestigious (Michael Jordan-sponsored) event, ‘The Rising Suns’ will look to represent Japan on the world’s stage.  I know, from my heart and soul, there’s so much we can accomplish through the power of sport.
